URINETOWN was the surprise hit of 2001, garnering two Tony awards - Best Score and Best Book of a Musical. Its suprising and uncoventional plot revolves around a city where private toilets are no more and civilians are charged to use the public facilities. It started life when the writer, Greg Kotis, encountered a pay-to-use toilet while travelling in Europe.

The show opened first Off-Broadway and soon made it's way to Broadway. After playing more than 900 performances on Broadway, Urinetown embarked on a successful US tour and now is a favourite with American community theatres.
