The story of TARZAN, the story of a boy raised in the jungle, is one the most famous in the world and has been told through film, books, comic strips and theatre. In 1999 the Walt Disney Company released an animated version of the story that was an instant hit.
Several of the songs by Phil Collins scored high in the charts, You'll Be In My Heart in particular has been covered by many different artists.

The Broadway production opened in 2006 to lukewarm reviews and wasn't as big a hit as previous Disney productions. A reality show to find a leading man and lady was mounted in the Netherlands and the show became hugely popular in Europe, with three separate productions. A regional production opened in the US of June 2010.
