After beating Miss Saigon, Aspects Of Love and Buddy in 1990 to become the Olivier Award Winner for Best Musical, RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET is now one of the most performed musicals in the US and Britain - a firm favourite with schools and community theatre groups. Throughout the nineties, the show toured almost non-stop and included the West End in its tour schedule. The show started life touring London in a tent with the
Bubble Theatre Company.

Return To The Forbidden Planet is based on the sci-fi B movie Forbidden Planet which in turn is based on Shakespeare's The Tempest. Writer Bob Carlton ingeniously kept to Shakespeare's style of prose, and cleverly intertwined many popular songs of the fifties and sixties. Watching the show it's hard to believe some of them came from anywhere else!

A second show was produced - From A Jack To A King - this time setting Macbeth in a film noire setting. Although clever in its own right, that show never quite got off the ground.
